What is Single Customer View?
A Single Customer View is an aggregated,
consistent and holistic representation of the data known by an organisation
about its customer. In terms of deposit insurance, it is the collation of all
the information on a depositor (all his bank information in every bank across
the country) and considered as a single identity. In Nigeria, the Bank
verification Number (BVN) system has now created a database where
all bank customers are captured and their accounts are linked. The
initiative will aid the speed of making pay-out of insured sums to depositors
after an insured institution is liquidated.
